Host policies

POLICIES FOR USE OF THE FACILITIES Policies concerning the use and care of the Mill City Church building (685) will be observed in order to ensure the protection of furnishings, cleanliness of facilities, economy of utilities, and welfare and safety of all concerned. It is the responsibility of the organizing party to set-up for events unless otherwise coordinated with Mill City Church staff. All areas must be returned to their original state at the conclusion of each event. GENERAL BUILDING GUIDELINES 1. Thermostat - the thermostat settings in the building are not to be altered. Temperatures inside are pre-set. 2. Supplies - please provide all of your own supplies for your event and take them with you as you leave. 3. Food and beverage - food and beverage supplies are not to be left on countertops or floors. 4. Children - all children present must have adult supervision at all times. 5. Marketing​/​advertising - all publicity for an event must provide the organizing party’s own contacts’ names and phone numbers. Mill City Church phone numbers cannot be used for this purpose. 6. All items brought into the 685 for an event must be removed from the property at the event’s conclusion. The blue bins are for recycling items and the charcoal bins are for trash. 7. No toxic paints or chemicals in the rooms at any time. 8. No open flames or heaters. 9. There are restrictions on decorations (see decorations section). MAINTENANCE AND CLEANUP GUIDELINES 1. The space will be in a clean condition prior to the event. You are required to return the it to the same clean condition in which it was found. If it is left unclean after your event, you will be charged $50 for cleaning services. 2. Absolutely no glitter of any kind. 3. Carpets in the event liquids, food, or craft supplies are spilled in a carpeted area, organizing parties should clean the affected area immediately. If initial cleaning attempts are unsuccessful, please report the spill to the Mill City staff so that appropriate professional cleaning can be organized as soon as possible to prevent permanent damage. 4. Tabletops tabletops and any other flat surfaces used during an event must be wiped clean after the event. 5. All rental equipment must be removed immediately following your event. 6. Always return the tables and chairs to their original configuration and turn the lights off when leaving the room. 7. Trash removal - clean up any trash or mess you have created. When trash cans contain food items or are more than half full, all trash should be gathered and taken directly to the appropriate dumpster (dumpsters are behind door 4), and fresh trash bags placed in trash cans. 7. All surfaces used by the Renter must be wiped down and left clean. Cleaning supplies will be provided and kept readily available. 8. Floors must be clean when you leave. Do not leave debris, especially food. A broom and dustpan are available. 9. Bathrooms - someone must check bathrooms after any event​/​meeting. Straighten up if needed. 10. Sinks - if food and beverages are being served, sinks must be rinsed and cleaned before leaving. CONDUCT 1. Renter agrees to comply with all applicable city, county, state and federal laws and regulations. Conduct of all participants, spectators, service providers and volunteers shall be the responsibility of the Renter. Renters also accept all responsibility for any injury to person(s) or property, loss of or damage to property, and theft of personal property during the event, or resulting from. 2. Drug use​/​smoking - there is absolutely NO drug use, including THC, or smoking of any kind tolerated at 685, within any common areas of the building or within 25 feet of the building. 685 is a 100% smoke free facility. All forms of tobacco use, including cigarettes, cigars, bidis, smokeless​/​spit tobacco, hookahs, blunts, pipes, e- cigarettes and snuff are prohibited. This applies to all facility grounds including parking lots and common areas. Violations incur a $500 fine. 3. Alcohol - alcohol is not allowed at 685. 4. Loitering and congregating outside on the building’s sidewalk at any time during the event is also prohibited. 5. Disparaging remarks or any type of physical violence will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate expulsion. 6. Renter and guests shall use 685 in a considerate manner at all times. Conduct deemed disorderly shall be grounds for immediate expulsion from the building and conclusion of the rental period. In such cases no refund of the event costs shall be made. SECURITY 1. Do not leave valuables unattended at any time. Mill City Church is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. 2. Do not leave any exterior doors unlocked or propped open and unattended during your event. DECORATIONS 1. Nails, tacks, or tape are NOT to be used on any painted surfaces. 2. Decorations may be temporarily tied to furniture if necessary. 3. Decorations must be removed immediately following an event. 4. The use of event signage must be coord
